Thanks to everyone that came out to run the Stampede this year. I’d like to thank our awesome sponsors; Patrick Stepanovsky with Huntington Bank in Newark, Tara Brown with Liberty Mutual in New Albany, Doug and Sue at the Jimmy John’s in Newark/Heath, Zach Webster with Second Sole in Gahanna. We plan to add some different stuff next year, amongst adding some new obstacles, we will be adding a team wave, and possibly and Elite challenge wave. We are also considering moving our date to around fathers day in June. We will keep you posted.
2nd annual BC Stampede is today, Saturday May 18th. If you are pre registered, then you should get here at least 45 minutes before you wave to get things in order. If you need to register, you need to arrive an hour ahead. 1.5 mile wave at 10, 3.1 waves at 11-11:30-12:00. Awards will follow promptly after the course has been cleared. We will not mail these items, you must be present to accept awards.
Dont forget to bring cash money, change of clothes, towel, change of shoes, an ID, and a good attitude!
The Course is ready, are you?
This weekend we run rain or shine.
For those registering the day of the event, here is the tentative schedule:
Registration/Packet Pickup starts at 9:30. We will allow people to register up to 11:30. Day of registration will be $40 becuse the flyer didnt really spell that out very well. With your packet you will have a bib that is your scoring chip, do not bend or crease it or you will not be scored. It will come with safety pins, it needs to be on the front of your shirt. Where a shirt.
The Weekend Warrior wave is at 10am. No exceptions.
All Hardcore Waves are 11-11:30-12:00.
We are allowing runners to run both, if you dont get here early enough to get your packet and get to the line, thats your fault, coming down the driveway at 9:45 is not gonna work, get here early.
Awards will start at 1:15pm. We will not mail shirts, awards or anything. If you want it, you have top be there.
Bring Cash, we dont have an ATM, no checks unless we know you well enough to buy you a beer.
Beer. Everyone that finishes will have the right to 1 beer for free, provided you are 21 years or older. Bring an ID. After that we will be selling beers for $2. Gate fees are $10 per car, not per person, per car, so load them up!
From now till the end of May, you can make a difference by simply getting a quote for home and auto insurance with Liberty Mutual. For every quote, home or auto, they will donate $10 per quote to the Newark YMCA. Contact Tara Brown at 614-855-6193 ext.52267 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org She will be at the Stampede on Saturday May 18th. you don’t have to sign up for anything, it costs you nothing, just get a quote and help the YMCA!

Anyone that registers online for either the 1.5 mile or 3.1 mile course can run both!!!! Just an idea I had, so whether you run the weekend warrior as a warm up or, you made a mistake and though that was too easy, we will let run another wave that day! Just get signed up now!
With about a month to go we are switching our focus to getting prepared for the 2nd annual BC Stampede. We have to switch 2-3 existing obstacles around, and we are creating 4 new ones! Including the amish pyramid, the BC Caverns, the BC Ballet, and the most challenging; the Top of the Morning. Time is running out on saving some cash for registration. We are accepting online registrations til May 1, if you use the code “second sole” upon checkout you can race for just $30. Day of registration is $50.
We are teaming up with Huntington Bank and Pelatonia to help raise money for the James. For everyone that registers for the Stampede and uses promo code “Huntington Bank”, we will donate $10 to Pelatonia! Help Huntington Bank and Pelotnia in their quest for a cure.
I’d like to thank our two newest sponsors Jimmy Johns Subs and Liberty Mutual Insurance. With their help, the Stampede just got turned up two notches. Be sure to consider them in your everyday lives.
